Role-Action Workflow

The table below presents the typical roles and corresponding actions in a mine site which relate to BlastLogic.

Who Action
Drill and Blast (D/B) Engineer
  1. Perform site configuration:
    1. Add personnel, crew, drill machines, monitoring stations, drilling and charging shifts.
    2. Add custom properties for holes, blasts, drilling and cost.
    3. Set process tolerances and validation settings.
  2. Create a blast in Vulcan and share the data with BlastLogic (see Vulcan integration with BlastLogic). The D/B Engineer can also import a blast using the traditional functionality.
  3. Apply a charge rule on the blast.
  4. Publish the blast.
Operator
  1. Enters drilling event data on an interface which builds on BLIS (system administrator).
BLIS
  1. Validates and associates drilling event data with design data (as-drilled vs design).
Surveyor (optional)
  1. Rechecks collar values, angle and bearing and reports them as survey data.
D/B Engineer (optional)
  1. Issues dipping sheet.
Operator (only necessary if step 8 is completed)
  1. Completes dipping sheet on Tablet. Marks which holes require backfilling.
D/B Engineer (only necessary if 8 and 9 are completed)
  1. Issues backfilling sheet if required.
Operator
  1. Completes charge sheet on the Tablet.
D/B Engineer
  1. Loaded charge data on Tablet is reconciled on the Desktop application.
  2. Reports are generated and inventory finalised.
