Creating a Phase Model

To create a phase model, click on the Phase icon in the Ribbon Control menu.

This will bring up the following panel.

To run Phase, you will have to have the following items in your model ready for use:

  • Block Model: name of the model to use for the view.
  • Shell/Stage column: the item in the model carrying the pit optimisation shell number, in this case pit_num.
  • Value column: the item in the model which contains the block value. Phase will use this information when splitting phases to ensure value is maximised.
  • Block tonnes column: the item of the model containing the total tonnes in a block.
  • Slope Region Column: this column contains integer codes which represent the overall slope of a wall. Once this is defined, a scan of the model is performed and values are then populated. You can then map slope values to each of the slope regions. Note: The slope angle needs to be aligned with the sub-regions angle in the pit optimisation process.

The phase interim model can now be accessed from the Project Explorer and edited in the Phase Design tab and will be automatically loaded in the Viewer.

You now have access to a range of functions and tools to manipulate and develop phases:

  • Merge Shells
  • Mining Rules
  • Stage Design GA
  • Advanced tools

Once you are happy with their design, you can upend the results to their model by clicking the Send Command Results to Model icon in the Phase toolbar.
