Dynamic Reserving Pits

Dynamic reserving pits are a combination of a reserve model and a block model. These pits leverage the dependency generating capabilities of reserve models combined with the enhanced fidelity of block models.

To import a dynamic reserving pit:

  1. Click the Dynamic reserving pit icon in the New Model section of the Evolution Ribbon. This will open a new panel.

  2. Provide the following information:

    1. Name. Provide a suitable name for your dynamic reserve pit. Evolution will automatically provide a default value of “Dynamic Reserve Pit <number>” where number represents the number of dynamic reserve pits in your project.

    2. Select block model. Provide a block model from your project.

      • Density. Choose a density variable from the block model.

    3. Select solids. Choose to either:

      • Import .00ts from folder. Select .00t files from another directory.

      • Use existing solids model. Select an existing solid model within the project.

    4. Once you have chosen a solids model, you can configure its settings:

      • Stage. Choose an attribute which represents stages in a pit from either the imported or existing reserve model.

      • Bench. Choose an attribute which represents benches in a pit from either the imported or existing reserve model.

      • Tonnage. Either create a tonnage attribute or select an attribute to represent tonnage from the imported solids pit.

      • Volume. Either create a volume attribute or select an attribute to represent volume from the imported solids pit.

    5. Numeric attribute aggregation. Select the desired aggregation behaviour for each available attribute. The default is sum, though for attributes such as grade, it is recommended that you select a weighted average.

  3. Click OK. The dynamic reserving pit will appear in the project explorer.
