User Requirements

Before starting, ensure the following pre-requisites have been met:

• You have access to a Maptek Extend licence/seat

• You have PointStudio 2020 (or higher) or Vulcan GeologyCore 2022.1 (or higher) running

• You have installed Python 3.7 via the Download Manager which contains the Maptek modules required. For instructions on how to install Python 3.7, go here.

• To make use of the Maptek workflow module, an understanding of the Workflow Editor is required. For more information on the Workflow Editor, see the Workflows help site.

• We recommend using Visual Studio Code for developing and debugging

This documentation assumes some knowledge of Python. If you are new to Python, we recommend taking a Python training course which can be done in context with Maptek Libraries with Maptek Training, otherwise assisted by online tutorials and training courses. The Maptek Python SDKs make use of the NumPy library and familiarity with this library will assist greatly in your ability to get the most out of them.
