Design Conformance Reporting

The Design Conformance reporting tool accepts a design surface and object(s) representing the as-built surfaces and generates a report detailing the conformance between the two.

  1. On the ribbon tab navigate to the Reporting group and select Design Conformance.
The Design conformance report tool will open and guide you through the steps required to produce the report.

  2. Specify report data - select design surface and as-built surface.

  3. Alternatively

If a scene has been created in the Create Scene tool, locate the container in the project explorer and drag and drop the object onto the As-built surface field. This will disable the other fields.

  4. Add additional surfaces for cross sections and Region polygons if desired.

Tip!  Keep all relevant polygons together in the same bin then drag the whole bin into Region polygons field.
  1. Configure report - adjust the look of the report and the data that will be displayed. With these subsections included:
    • Content: choose components to include.
    • Summary table: More
    • Colour scheme: colour legend creator.
    • Cross sections More
    • Document: choose metadata to include as well as a page layout.

  1. Define report area - examine layouts and adjust accordingly.

  2. Review report images - examine the report images, if it's satisfactory click Next to generate the final output otherwise click Back for corrections.

    Plan views image

Plan view showing the design surface and the as-built modeled from the supplied objects. Below is a plan view showing only the parts of the as-built intersected vertically by the design, and coloured by distance to the design surface. The colour legend indicates the distances from the as-built to the design in terms of overdig and underdig distances.

    Perspective views image

The perspective views show the same data as the plan views, but viewed from a different angle to improve the view of elevated features of the surfaces such as highwalls.

    Cross sections image

Cross section images show the design vs. as-built in section for each block in the report labeled B-B, C-C and so on.

  1. Preview report - evaluate the 5 page report which can be saved to a PDF or printed out.

Important settings

Summary table

The table will list tonnages (i.e. mass) instead of volumes if the “Report tonnages instead of volumes” option is selected in the Report preferences.

Report tonnages

Check Report tonnages instead of volumes to report tonnages (i.e. mass) instead of volumes in the report Summary according to a defined material density.

Threshold

The Highlight threshold for percentages can be used to set the threshold at which percentages will be highlighted in the Summary appearing at the end of the report.

Cross sections

The summary table lists conformance statistics for each block in the report, including underdig volume, overdig volume, and overdig and underdig areas splits between wall and bench.

Cross section layout

This affects how the cross section are sized and laid out as an image in the report. For bigger cross images, choose “Bigger sections”. For a more compact report, choose “Smaller sections”.
