Fit
The Fit drop-down (Create tab > Create group) provides tools with which you can create objects fitted to selections of points. Expand below for details on each.
The Fitted Plane tool (Ctrl+K) allows you to create a plane-of-best-fit
to a selection of points. This can be useful for querying the dip and strike of rock faces.

Using either the point
(Select points), select the points to have a plane fitted.

On the Create tab, go to the Create group. From the Fit drop-down list, select
Fit Plane.The Fitted Plane panel will appear.

Select whether the plane should be constrained Horizontally or Vertically, or select No constraint, which will produce the best fit for the plane.

Select All selected points to use all the points in the selection to fit the plane, or select Best points to discard the outlying points.

Click OK or Apply.
The plane is saved as a surface in the
cad container and is displayed in the view window, coloured the average colour of the selected points.

To extend the fitted plane, right-click on the plane to open its context menu, hover over Edit select Extend to point then select a point to extend the plane to. Alternatively, select Extend to face then select the face to extend the plane to.

The Fit Line tool (Ctrl+J) allows you to create a line
fitted to a selection of points.

Using either the point
selection type, select the points to line a plane fitted.

On the Create tab, go to the Create group. From the Fit drop-down list, select
Fit Line.

Select whether the line should be constrained Horizontally or Vertically. No constraint will create a line of best fit.

Click OK or Apply. The line is saved in the
cadcontainer and is coloured the average colour of the selected points.

The Fit Circle tool (Ctrl+L) allows you to create a circle
fitted to a selection of points.

Using either the point
selection type, select the points to have a circle fitted.

On the Create tab, go to the Create group. From the Fit drop-down list, select
Fit Circle.

Select whether the circle should be constrained Horizontally or Vertically. No constraint will use the best fit to create the circle, regardless of orientation.

Click OK or Apply.
The fitted circle and its centre point are displayed in the view window, coloured with the average colour of the selected points. They are also saved in the
cad container.
