Filtering
Scan point clouds will inevitably contain extraneous or superfluous points resulting from airborne particles or non-essential objects in the scene. Such points include dust and snow, reflections from trees, machinery, people, and shiny surfaces, including water. These points interfere with accurate modelling of the scene. Some essential elements of a scene, such as mesh and underground services also may interfere with accurate modelling.
PointStudio provides a number of different filtering options for hiding unwanted points and excluding them from modelling. Each filter is geared for a different situation.
Filtering does not delete points, but assigns tags to points to identify them, then hides those fitting the filter criteria. Thus, filtered points can be recalled to view at any time.
