File Extensions

These preferences allow you to set which grid extensions will appear in the Vulcan Explorer application when you use the Open button on the Standard toolbar, and when you use the List Grids button on the Open toolbar.

Using the icon is the same as using the Model > Grid Mesh Surfaces > List option.

Grids that have extensions which are not listed in these preference settings will not appear in the appropriate Explorer folder or in the file lists displayed when the Open or List icons are used.

Note:   Since grid file extensions are case-sensitive, we recommend that you add both the uppercase and lowercase versions of the extension.

Auto update

Select this option to automatically include any new grid (three letter extensions ending with g ) extensions that appear in the directory from which you started Vulcan. All of the added grid extensions will be enabled automatically.

File Format

Use File Format drop-down list if you want to save triangulations or grids in the legacy Vulcan 7.5 format. You will need to restart workbench to make this option take effect.

Changes made to these preferences will not appear in the Vulcan Explorer until the Workbench has been restarted. However, they will appear in the file lists displayed when the Open or List Grids icons are used.
