Grid Calculator

Grid Calculator provides quick and simple access to common grid operations. The tool provides a user interface from where users can directly nominate the grid(s) and perform the common operations like loading, selecting or creating grids, calculating dips, performing mathematical and boolean operations via a number of available operators, and more.

One of the many advantages of Grid Calculator is that the users do not need to know the specific syntax of the GridCalc commands used in performing these operations. Previously, users required to know the exact syntax when performing them from the commandline of the Vulcan console. Additionally, the tool also allows saving the syntax of the selected grids and mathematical operations to a macro.

Note:  Grid Calculator is synchronised with the entire GridCalc menu to keep track of the operations conducted outside of the Grid Calculator as well.

Instructions

On the Grid Calc menu, click Grid Calculator to display the following panel.

Current Grid

This shows the current grid in selection.

Show actual Grid Calc commands

The tool keeps a track of the recent grid operations which can be seen as a list on the right. Selecting the checkbox shows the actual Grid Calc commands of the operations.

The basic operations that the Grid Calculator performs are:
