Context Menus

Use the Context Menus option to define the options that are to be made available through the Vulcan right-click context menu, which is shown after right-clicking on a given object in the Vulcan window. The customisations will be saved to the vulcan.prefs file, which should be located under your User Profile area.

Instructions

On the Workbench menu, click on Context Menus to display the Context Menu Customisation panel.

To add an option to the Vulcan context menu, check the appropriate box. To remove an option from the Vulcan context menu, clear the box.

The following table provides a brief summary on each of the available options.

Point

Delete

Remove individual points from a nominated object. This is the same as the Delete option (under the Design > Point Edit submenu). If this check box is checked, then this option will be available under the Point section of the Vulcan context menu.

Move

Move a point to a new position. This is the same as the Move option (under the Design > Point Edit submenu). If this check box is checked, then this option will be available under the Point section of the Vulcan context menu.

Colour

Change the colour of the points in a nominated object. If this check box is checked, then this option will be available under the Point section of the Vulcan context menu.

Line

To A Line

Relimit a line to its intersection (or projected intersection) point with another nominated line. This is the same as the To A Line option (under the Design > Relimit submenu). If this check box is checked, then this option will be available under the Line Segment section of the Vulcan context menu.

Grid Mesh Along Grade

Relimit a line along its line of intersection with a loaded grid mesh model. This is the same as the Grid Mesh Along Grade option (under the Design > Relimit submenu). If this check box is checked, then this option will be available under the Line Segment section of the Vulcan context menu.

Reverse

Reverse the sequence of a nominated string. This is the same as the Reverse option (under the Design > Object Edit submenu). If this check box is checked, then this option will be available under the Line Segment section of the Vulcan context menu.

Delete

Delete a selected line segment from a nominated object. If this check box is checked, then this option will be available under the Line Segment section of the Vulcan context menu.

Colour

Modify the colour of a line segment in a nominated object, thus allowing multi-coloured objects. If this check box is checked, then this option will be available under the Line Segment section of the Vulcan context menu.

Polygon

Z Value

Apply a nominated Z value to an object. This is the same as the Z Value option (under the Design > Object Edit submenu). If this check box is checked, then this option will be available under the Polygon section of the Vulcan context menu.

Expand

Expand or shrink proportionally the size of a polygon by a given distance. This is the same as the Expand option (under the Design > Polygon Edit submenu). If this check box is checked, then this option will be available under the Polygon section of the Vulcan context menu.

Pairs

Manipulate a pair of polygons that share the same points. This is the same as the Pairs option (under the Design > Polygon Edit submenu). If this check box is checked, then this option will be available under the Polygon section of the Vulcan context menu.

Feature

Apply a feature, which is a set of predetermined attributes, to a nominated object. This is the same as the Feature option (under the Design > Attribute Edit submenu). If this check box is checked, then this option will be available under the Polygon section of the Vulcan context menu.

Scale

Scale an object by a nominated factor in three dimensions (X, Y and Z). This is the same as the Scale option (under the Design > Transformation submenu). If this check box is checked, then this option will be available under the Polygon section of the Vulcan context menu.

Centroid

Report the centroid coordinates of a closed polygon or solid triangulation. This is the same as the Centroid option (under the Analyse > Details submenu). If this check box is checked, then this option will be available under the Polygon section of the Vulcan context menu.

Full

View detailed information on a nominated object and its points. This is the same as the Full option (under the Analyse > Details submenu). If this check box is checked, then this option will be available under the Polygon section of the Vulcan context menu.

True Type Font

Change the font type assigned to the selected text object. This is the same as the True Type Font option (under the Design > Text Edit submenu).

End Points

Triangulation

Export DXF

Export a nominated triangulation to a DXF file.

Cut

Cut a nominated triangulation in two by interactively digitising a cut line. This is the same as the Cut option (under the Model > Triangle Utility submenu).

Close Solid

Automatically close all of the holes found in a nominated triangulation solid. This is the same as the Close Solid option (under the Model > Triangle Solid submenu).

Volume

Calculate the volume, tonnage and surface area of closed 3D triangulations. This is the same as the Volume option (under the Model > Triangle Solid submenu).

Snap Vertices

Snap vertices together if they lie in a specified distance of each other. This is the same as the Snap Vertices option (under the Model > Triangle Edit submenu).

Delete Crossing Triangles

Display a 'length weighted average' for numeric data over a nominated drillhole interval as shown below. This is the same as the Composite option (under the Geology > Drilling submenu). Group

Group structural data under the same fault name in the structural database. This is the same as the Group option (under the Geotech > Analysis submenu). If this check box is checked, then this option will be available under the Geotech section of the Vulcan context menu.

Ungroup

Clear the fault name for structural data in the structural database. This is the same as the Ungroup option (under the Geotech > Analysis submenu). If this check box is checked, then this option will be available under the Geotech section of the Vulcan context menu.

CSV Export

Export the 'GEOTEC' fields that correspond with a collection of selected structural elements and store them in a nominated CSV file. This is the same as the CSV Export option (under the Geotech > Utilities submenu). Delete

Annotation On

Annotate the samples in a nominated sample group. This is the same as the Annotation On option (under the Geology > Sampling submenu). If this check box is checked, then this option will be available under the Sample section of the Vulcan context menu.

Move Channel

Select this to select all of the available options, that is, check all of the check boxes. Selecting this twice will clear all available options, that is, clear all of the check boxes.

Click OK.

The customisations are applied and saved to your vulcan.prefs file.
