SOKKIA
Vulcan can interface directly with the SDR22, SDR33 and 8100 data recorders (both in an uploading and downloading capacity).
The Trimble TSC1 GPS instrument can also be driven as a SDR33 instrument, as long as SDR33 options are used on the Trimble itself. All instruments communicate with the computer in the same way, but there are two different file formats that may be used. Therefore, the selection being made in the Set Up option between SDR22 and SDR33 can be both a file format selection, as well as an instrument type selection.
The two formats are listed below:
-
SDR2.x
This is the standard format for the SDR22 and SDR33 instruments. This format uses 4 character integer point identifiers. -
SDR3.x
This format is available only on SDR33, 8100 and Trimble TSC1 instruments. This format uses 14 alphanumeric character point identifiers.
If you are using an SDR33 or 8100 instrument, then you will need to decide on which format to use, as you cannot upload a SDR33 format file to the SDR22 instrument.
