Overview
The Move Blocks submenu is the most powerful and detailed submenu in the Dragline module. It is from this submenu that most of your range diagram design work will be done. The suite of tools provided here, enables you to simulate the operation of a dragline, cast blasting, bulldozing, truck & shovel operations and any other kind of material movement, in order to develop an optimised range diagram.
Prior to using this submenu, you will need to generate your in situ block layouts, using the Create option. All blocks created using the Move Blocks options will be in addition to the in situ blocks - blocks are never deleted by the Dragline module.
The dumping options may be performed on both current and imported blocks. When performing the dumping options, you will be prompted whether to Consider Rehandle or to Ignore Rehandle.
In the former case, a polygon boolean operation is performed on the old and new polygons, which determines how much of the old block has been moved (the rehandled fraction of the new block is then set accordingly). In the latter case, the rehandled fraction of the new block is set to that of the old block.
All dumping options (with the exception of Area Reshape) will balance block areas as follows:
<new polygon area> = <bank area> * <new swell factor>
<new swell factor> =THE MAXIMUM OF<swell table factor>AND<old swell factor>
The Area Reshape option back-calculates the new swell factor, based on the new polygon area and the bank area.
You will need to allocate equipment (dragline or ancillary), when performing operations using the dumping options and also when using the Create Block and Remove Block options. Dragline equipment may only be used when performing the dumping options, and only when they are performed on current blocks and when there is a dragline currently set on the section. Dragline equipment may only be used when performing the dumping options, and only when they are performed on current blocks and when there is a dragline currently set on the section.
Dragline equipment may be selected from the dragline database, positioned on the section and removed from the section, using the Select Dragline, Set Position and Unset Position options, respectively.
