Distance
Measure the Distance Between Points
Use the Distance option to measure the distance between nominated points on the current section. The information displayed in the Report Window consists of the 2D section coordinates of the individual points, the Horizontal, Vertical, and Total distances between each point and the Chainage distance between the first and latest points.
Note: If you are not in a slice view prior to running the Distance option, then you will automatically switch to the current section view.
Instructions
On the Dragline menu, point to View, and then click Distance.
Digitise the points on the section (points will be projected onto the section if not already). Any point can be indicated, you don't need to use an existing point. If you do want to use an existing point, then you may want to use one of the available snap modes, for example, Snap to Objects or
Snap to Points.
If a Dragline specifications file (.rsp
) was not opened prior to selecting this option, then the Open Dragline Specification panel displays first.
Open Dragline Specification panel
Spec file name
Enter, or select from the drop-down list, the <spec_file_id>
part of the dragline specifications file name. The maximum size is 6 alphanumeric characters. Selecting a name from the drop-down list will open an existing specifications file. Entering a new name will create a new specifications file.
Click OK.
The information displays in the Report Window after each point is digitised.
