XYZ To Lat/Long

Convert XYZ Coordinates to Lat/Long Coordinates

The XYZ To Lat/Long option to convert Cartesian (XYZ) coordinates, used in GPS calculations, to geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) based on a specified local spheroid. The converted coordinates will be displayed in the Report Window.

Instructions

• Select Survey menu
• Select Transformations submenu
• Select XYZ To Lat/Long option

The following panel displays.

Spheroid

Select the reference spheroid (also referred to as an ellipsoid) that will be used for the conversion. Currently this is set up for ANS (Australian National Spheroid), GRS80 and WGS (World Geodetic System). Contact your nearest Maptek office if you require another reference spheroid.

X/Y/Z

Enter the Cartesian coordinates. These values are in metres.

Select OK.

The converted coordinates are then displayed in the Report Window.
