Vertical Exaggeration

Change Vertical Exaggeration

Use the Vertical Exaggeration option to change the vertical exaggeration. The default exaggeration is set in the project specification file (.dg1).

Vertical exaggeration stretches objects in the Z direction. The stretching occurs from the centre of the current viewing volume, that is, coordinates above this position are stretched up and coordinates below this position are stretched down.

Note:  The FilePlot > Plot All option does not take vertical exaggeration into account.

Instructions

On the View menu, point to Change View, then click Vertical Exaggeration.

Enter the Z exaggeration factor. This factor will be multiplied with the default factor, which set in the project specification file, to determine the final exaggeration factor.

An exaggeration value of 2 in the .dg1 file and an exaggeration value of 3 entered on this panel will result in an exaggeration factor of 6.

Tip:  To reset the exaggeration factor and restore the original factor value, enter the previously specified value as a negative number.
