Pick Design

Use Pick Design to select data from the screen to load into the Grid Calc buffer. It is very similar to the Load Design and Load DEM options except you can select the data from the layers loaded into Vulcan.

This option can also be accessed by selecting the Select Design Data button from the Grid Calc toolbar.

Instructions

On the Grid Calc menu, point to Data, and then click Pick Design.

The Multiple Selection box displays. You will be able to select either from Layers or Objects.

From this box choose a method of selecting the data, and then select the data to display the Select Design panel.

Select whether to load the data as Strings, Points, or Breaklines. Triangles cannot form across breaklines. Therefore, if the triangulation modelling method is used the grid will honour these lines.

Append

Select this check box if you want to append the data to the current set of data. If this check box is not selected, the current set of data will be cleared first.

Click OK.

The data is then loaded. The screen display doesn't change.
