Strata File

Use the Strata File option to create a stratigraphic horizon file. Horizon files are used for stratigraphic modelling in Vulcan. Strata files (<proj>strata.hzl) are stored in your current working directory.

Instructions

On the Grid Calc menu, point to Edit Modelling Defaults, and then click Strata File to display the Strata File panel.

Topography variable

Enter the topography variable (usually TP).

Roof Variable

Enter, or select from the drop-down list, the structure roof variable (usually SR).

Floor Variable

Enter, or select from the drop-down list, the structure floor variable (usually SF).

Click OK.

The stratigraphic horizon file is then created and stored in your current working directory.
