Save Grid

Use Save Grid to save the grid to a file. The grid limits and grid size may be modified as part of the saving process.

Note:   A grid can also be saved by typing the following at the Grid Calc command line:save <gfi>.<mv>

Instructions

On the Grid Calc menu, point to Grids, and then click Save Grid to display the Save panel.

Variable or file

The default grid filename is based on the default horizon name which is used as the grid file identifier (<gfi>) and the nominated model variable (<mv>). The default horizon is specified through the Project Defaults option (under the Grid Calc > Edit Modelling Defaults submenu).

You can overwrite the default horizon name by specifying the grid filename in full or by specifying only the horizon and variable name. When entering the full grid filename, the following grid naming convention must be used;

<proj><gfi>.<mv>g

where <proj> refers to the project code, <gfi> refers to the grid file identifier and <mv> is the model variable, for example, abcblue.asg where abc = the project code, blue = the grid file identifier (seam) and as = the model variable (ash).

To specify only the horizon and variable name, select the appropriate model variable (<mv>) from the available drop-down list before entering the appropriate grid file identifier (<gfi>) in front of this variable. Hence you can overwrite the default horizon and, if applicable, the project code. If the variable alone is selected without a grid file identifier, for example, <sr>, then the default horizon name will be automatically allocated to it, for example, topo.srg.
