Create Points

Points can be created to manipulate or add to existing data.

  1. On the Create ribbon tab navigate to the Draw group. From the Points drop-down list select Points.

  2. On the status bar, enter the coordinates of the First point, or click in the view window to auto-fill the fields.

  3. Initially the points will be drawn on the action plane however, entering a Z value will place the point in the 3D space.

  4. Enter more points, as required.

  5. Right click or click the in the status bar or press Enter to complete the sequence. The points become one object and are saved in the cad container. The function is also reset and ready for new entries.

  6. When finished with the function, click or press Esc to cancel and close the function.

Tip: Create points while in top view    or use snap modes to ensure the points are created in the intended location.

Data entry options and accompanying icons (Status bar related functions)

Auto-mode / auto-accept.

Start function and click at desired positions in the view window. Coordinate fields are automatically populated and each entry auto-accepted.





The function automatically moves on to the next step/next entry.

Manual mode / keyboard entry.

Click inside a coordinate field. The fields will change colour to signify manual mode. Enter numerical values via the keyboard. If desired, you can continue editing in manual mode.

Click Manual Accept to accept the values.

 

Manual mode / auto-populate.

Click inside a coordinate field. The fields will change colour to signify manual mode. Click desired point(s) in the view window. The coordinate fields are auto-populated. If desired, you can continue editing in manual mode.

Click Manual Accept to accept the values.

Manual accept
Accept all content entered in fields and apply current step. Required for data entered under Manual mode. (Tick colour is green when Manual mode changes have been detected.)

Then move on to next step/next entry.

Complete this function now and reset for new entries. (Enter)
Cancel and close this function. (ESC) Do not apply this function to any current entries. Close immediately. Previous successful entries/applications remain in the scene.

Note: You will need to use this command to ensure the function does not remain open and active, waiting for further inputs in a function list or 'stack' in the Status bar.
