Elevation Profile

The Elevation profile unwraps a curved line so that all its points lie in a single vertical plane without changing the Z values at all.

A good example would be if you have a line down the centre of a haul road winding its way down your pit this would unwrap it to create a line in a vertical plane which is effectively a chart of how the haul roads Z value changes with distance along the road.

To unwrap a curved line do the following:

1. Select a curved line from the Cad bin .

2. On the Create ribbon tab navigate to the Topology group and select Elevation Profile.

3. The output will be written into the Cad bin and renamed with a prefix of "unwrapped line of [name of line]" .
