To locate reflectors

The Locate reflectors option will display any reflectors found in a scan. Reflectors are usually small, highly reflective regions, similar to standard survey prisms.

  1. Right-click on a scan point in a view window for the context menu and hover over Query then from the list select Locate Reflectors in <scan name>.
    • When points are selected, the option is to locate a single reflector in the selection.
    • When no points are selected, the option is to locate reflectors in the scan.

  1. Select the number of reflectors to find by typing a number in or use the slider.

  2. Select De-emphasise large bright regions to help filter out regions such as road signs.

  3. Click OK or Apply.

The reflector locations will be indicated on the scan(s) with a green cross, they will be numbered and annotated and also generated in the survey container.

Note: As locating reflectors uses the topology of the scan, for best results, make sure the scan is not filtered.

Tip: These reflector locations can be used in conjunction with matching point pairs to locate scans.
