Overview
This section describes the options under the Viewing submenu.
Block models ( .bmf
) can be viewed in a number of ways:
- Coloured slices on any plane through the model to display grade or zonal variables.
- Vulcan uses two types of block model slices. The standard block model slice and the image slice format.
The following table provides information on the differences between the slice formats:Standard Slice Image Slice The resulting slice can be saved to a block model slice file (.bsf) or within a Vulcan layer. The resulting slice can be saved as an image-mapped triangulation (.00t) with an associated image registration file (ireg) and image (.tiff). Block model variable information within the resulting can be displayed as a datatip. Slices are created faster. Slices can be recoloured and block edges can be shown. Can be used to create larger slices. - Contours on any plane of either grade variables or regions of common material type.
- Display of individual blocks.
- Grade shell triangulations.
- Dynamically sectioned.
In all the display options the selection of blocks can be restricted to geographic regions or by selected criteria, for example, gold gt 1.5 g/t.
Tip: We recommend that a block model is indexed before viewing as this allows faster access to the block model.
