Polygon Texture Primitive

Modify textured/triangulated polygons

Use the Polygon Texture Primitive option to modify the attributes of the $TRIANG primitive. This is a special primitive assigned to a textured/triangulated polygon when it is created through the Polygon Textured option (under the Design > Create submenu).

This option can also be used to set the $TRIANG primitive on a normal polygon, thus converting it to a triangulated or textured polygon.

Instructions

On the Design menu, point to Attribute Edit, and then click Polygon Texture Primitive.

The Multiple Selection box displays. Use the Multiple Selection box to choose your method of selecting the objects and select the objects.

The following panel is then displayed.

This panel allows you to specify whether you want to triangulate or texture the polygon.

No texture

Select this option to change the polygon to solid shaded triangles.

Use tiled texture

Select this option to change the polygon to a textured polygon using a nominated texture file. The texture file can be manually entered, or selected from the drop-down list. Texture files are stored in the tiled_textures directory in the $ENVIS_RESO area.

The tiled_texture_info specification file, which needs to be updated when additional texture images are created, is also stored in this directory. Refer to Appendix A for an example of the specification file.

Click OK to apply the changes.

The Remove Primitive option, or the Remove Primitive button on the Primitives toolbar, can be used to remove the primitive from the triangulated polygon, thus converting it to a normal polygon.
