Map Correction

Use the Map Correction option to apply a map control file that contains the required point transformation to a layer containing the distorted points (Plan view only). The corrected map is stored in a user nominated layer.

Refer to the Correcting a Distorted Map section for an example.

Note The map control points file and the layer containing the distorted points must be loaded prior to running the Map Correction option.

Instructions

On the Design menu, point to Map Control Points, and then click Map Correction.

Indicate the required map control underlay. This prompt will only appear if there is more than one underlay loaded.

The Multiple Selection box is then displayed. This allows you to select the objects that you want to transform. Only objects that fall in the polygon formed by the outermost control points will be transformed. Objects outside of this polygon will be ignored.

You will then be prompted to select a colour, as well as allocate a layer for the corrected objects. The standard rules apply when allocating the layer. That is, the name must not exceed 40 alphanumeric characters (with no spaces) and the optional description must not exceed 80 alphanumeric characters (spaces are allowed).

A preview of the corrected objects displays and you are asked whether or not you want to retain the objects.
