Save As

Generates a.rgb,.bmp,.png,.jpg,.ireg or.avi file of the graphic screen contents. The default name for images is dump0000.<ext>, where the <ext> is one of rgb, bmp, png, jpg or ireg; for avi files it is 'dump.avi'. This file name will be incremented by one for each subsequent dump in the session.

Notes

  • Saving to an image registration file will result in both Toolbars_a.jpg and.ireg file being created; with Toolbars_the.jpg file containing the actual image and the.ireg file being used to register the image to a 3D space in the current view.

  • An image registration file can be used in place of a Pexel file when draping textures over a triangulation.

n.a

Resolution

Specifies the size of the capture area in either multiples of the window size or pixels.

If you select a pixel region, i.e. 800x600, a box this size displays on the screen and only the contents of this box will be captured. There are several different areas included in the drop-down list, 320x280, 400x300, 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, or you can enter the dimensions. If you choose to enter the dimensions, they must be in the same format, that is<width><the letter x><height>.

If you select screen, then you can also specify the resolution of the image. For example if the viewing window is 700 x 500 and you select Screen*2, the image size will be 1400x 1000. Whereas if you selected Screen*3, the image size would be 2100 x 1500 (i.e. multiply the length and width by the resolution to find the size of the image). If you are recording an AVI file, and don't specify a pixel region, then the resolution is always one(1) regardless of the screen resolution that you select.
