Naming
Name blastholes
The Naming option to name blastholes for reporting purposes.
Note Blasthole names are text objects and are allocated the '
BLAST_TEXT
' feature. This to remove the names using the feature selection category ( Design > Object Edit > Delete option).
Instructions
- Select Open Pit menu
- Select Blast Hole Layout submenu
- Select Naming option
Select the boundary around the blastholes to be named.
Select the position of the first and second row. These positions will be used for the direction of the blasthole name prefix.
Select position of the first and second column. These positions will be used for the direction of the blasthole numbers.
The following panel is then displayed.

Prefix Name and restart each row
Select this option to use a different prefix for each row and to restart the numbering. Specify the starting prefix ( Baseline Label start name ) and number ( Other Label start name ). The maximum size of the prefix is five (5) alphanumeric characters.

Continuous Naming
Select this option to use the same prefix throughout the pattern with continuous numbering.

Up and Down
Only applicable when using the Continuous Naming option. This option is best explained by the following diagrams:

Zero fill name
Select this check box to fill the names with zeroes, For example,
A001
instead of
A1
. The maximum fill is 999.
Select OK.
Select an object in the layer in which you want to place the names. The layer is highlighted and you need to confirm your selection. Correct assigns the names to each blasthole. Incorrect cancels the naming and returns to the Select layer prompt.
Use the Design > Object Edit > Identify option to check the names. Alternatively, you can annotate the blastholes using the Annotate option.
