Overview

This section describes the options under the Coal Reserves submenu. It is used to estimate the volume, tonnage, quality etc. of an underground coal mine. The underground coal mine is designed through the Coal Development submenu .

The reserves options are usually carried out using the following four steps:

1. Geology Setup
   This option sets the parameters describing the horizons and their qualities to be used in the calculation of reserves.
2. Project
   This option projects the mining blocks, based on the mining plan outline design in the Coal Development module. The option creates the 3D entities for which reserves will be made. 3D triangulations can be created from the projected blocks for ease of visualisation.
3. Reserve Setup
   This option sets the parameters describing which of the projected entities are to have their reserves calculated.
4. Run Reserve
   This option calculates the reserves.
