Open Estimation File

Use this option to load an existing block estimation file (.bef).

Note:  You can also load a block estimation file by right-clicking on the file in the Specifications folder (of the Vulcan Explorer) and selecting Open with Block Model Utility from the displayed context menu or by selecting the Open option from the Block Model Utility window.

Instructions

On the Block menu, point to Grade Estimation, then click Open Estimation File to display the Open panel.

Select the desired block estimation file (.bef) and click Open to load it.

The Block Model Utility window is then displayed.

If this is the first time the block estimation file has been opened in the Block Model Utility, then the column visibility is set for the first estimation in the file.

If the first Estimation Type is Inverse Distance, then all of the columns associated with Inverse Distance are displayed. You can determine which columns are associated with which estimations by right-clicking on one of the columns and selecting Select Columns from the displayed context menu.

From the Block Model Utility window displayed, select the Estimation Type from the drop-down list and observe which columns are checked (only the columns associated with the selected estimation are checked).

Tip

Click Export parameters to a CSV file to save the block estimation file (.bef) parameters to a CSV file. Enter a File name in the Save panel that is displayed and click Save to save the file to the current working directory, or navigate to another location to save the CSV file to a different folder.

The exported CSV file has two header rows, the first containing the key for each parameter (a coded name with no spaces) and the second containing the full parameter names (written out titles).

Refer to the Block > Grade Estimation > New Estimation File option for information on estimation fields.

Note:  Discretisation and assign from alternative size is not recommended in combination with unfolding models.
