Mining Parameters
Mining Parameters
Mining Parameters are used when generating a run of mine HARP model with Grid Calc > Integrated Stratigraphic Modelling > Run of Mine Model. These values are used to automatically adjust the horizon and waste block structures to reflect a run of mine thickness.
The following parameters may be specified for each horizon:
- Roof Loss: Thickness of coal lost from the roof of the seam (depletion).
- Floor Loss: Thickness of coal lost from the floor of the seam (depletion).
- Roof Gain: Thickness of waste material gained at the roof (dilution).
- Floor Gain: Thickness of waste material gained at the floor (dilution).
- Recovery: The recovery percent of the material remaining after gains and losses are considered.
Losses and Gains
Check Adjust Structure for losses and gains to enable additional functionality. These options raise the structure floor and lower the structure roof of individual HARP model horizon blocks to accommodate for the new run of mine thicknesses. Burden block heights are recalculated to reflect the new structure.
- Select Adjust by the loss value to adjust the roof and floor by the amount of material loss only (depletion). The amount of waste gain (dilution) is not taken into account.
- Select Use loss plus gain to adjust the roof and floor by the combined amount of material loss (depletion) and waste gain (dilution). The recovery factor is not considered. Unless recovery is 100%, the difference between the structure roof and structure floor may not equal the run of mine thickness.
- Select Weight the difference to weight the amount of thickness difference to the roof and floor. The default is a one-to-one weighting, where the roof and floor are adjusted equally. Enter values for Roof Weight and Floor Weight.
