Quality Parameters
Horizons
This option requires a Global Horizon list file, which has a .gdc_glob
extension. If the file exists in the current working directory, select it from the drop down list. Click Browse to select the file from a location outside the current working directory.
Select Geology > Drilling Utilities > Horizon List to create a,gdc_glob file.
Ideally, the same horizon list file would have been used to create the input HARP model. Another horizon list may be used, but the horizons in the list must correspond to those present in the input HARP model.
All horizons defined in the selected horizon list file displays. Check the box next to product horizons which should be considered.
- Click Select All to enable all horizons.
- Click Clear All to clear all horizons.
- Click Save Selection to save the horizon list configured in this panel to an
.h_sel
file. - Click Load Selection to populate the panel from an existing.h_sel file.
Configure Quality Parameters
Click the ellipsis button in the Quality Parameters column to configure individual horizons. This step is required.
It is possible to copy a single setup to all horizons in the list from this panel using cut-and-paste functionality.
Apply to all selected horizons
Check Apply to all selected horizons to copy the configuration to all defined horizons. Note that the Name field changes from the individual horizon name to an asterisk ( * ). Uncheck this box to configure different parameters for each horizon.
Density
Optional density information may be entered for each of the available input interval types. Roof and Floor density values must be manually entered as a constant value. Other density values may be in the form of an existing block model variable or as a constant.
- Variable: This can be an existing block model variable or a constant value. If the Seam value is not selected, Vulcan will default to the value chosen for Variable.
- Burden: Select an existing block model variable or enter a constant value. This value will be used for any waste material that is included in a final working section output from Grid Calc > Integrated Stratigraphic Modelling > Run of Mine Model.
- Roof: Enter a constant density value. This value is used in conjunction with any roof loss or gain entered in the Mining Parameters subpanel.
- Floor: Enter a constant density value. This value is used in conjunction with any floor loss or gain entered in the Mining Parameters subpanel.
Quality
Input values are similar to those in the Density section, except that the input values apply to associated quality information.
- Variable: Select an existing block model variable which contains quality values.
- Check the box in Ton Wt to use density to weight the output working section quality values by tonnage instead of thickness.
- Burden: Select an existing block model variable or enter a constant value. This value will be used for any waste material that is included in a final working section output in Grid Calc > Integrated Stratigraphic Modelling > Run of Mine Model.
- Roof: Enter a constant density value. This value is used in conjunction with any roof loss or gain entered in the Mining Parameters subpanel.
- Floor: Enter a constant density value. This value is used in conjunction with any floor loss or gain entered in the Mining Parameters subpanel.
