2. Configure the Setup

Once an Epoch setup is created, it needs to be configured so that it has the necessary information required for the client to generate a schedule.

Epoch setup configuration is divided into a number of sections or tabs. Each tab represents an aspect of the setup the software requires to schedule the mine. The following is a list of tabs that need to be configured for an Epoch setup to be ready for evaluation:

  • Flowchart — Used to add process flow components to a setup.
  • Resources — Used to add and configure resources (equipment and process flow components).
  • Activities — Used to add and configure activities.
  • Constraints — Used to define a set of setup constraints per period. Currently only contains one constraint (the Solid Availability constraint).
  • Calendar — A read-only tab which displays appointments indicating that a resource is inactive or unavailable.
  • Viewer — Provides a 3D display of models within the setup.
