Remove
Use this option to select and then remove underlays from the screen.
This option can be used to remove underlays of different types, including:
- Layers that are loaded as an underlay (through the File > Underlays > Load Layer... option).
- Grid mesh models.
- Triangulation models (images that are draped over a triangulation are also removed as they share the same graphics segment).
- Contours that have not been put into a design layer.
- Slices, blocks, and boundaries of block models.
Instructions
The Remove option can be accessed through the Standard toolbar or several menu options, all of which that work the same way:
-
File > Underlays > Remove
-
Model > Remove
-
Model > Grid Mesh Surfaces > Remove
-
Model > Triangle Files > Remove
-
Model > Contouring > Remove
-
Grid Calc > Display > Remove Underlay
-
Rsvute > Remove Underlay
-
Block > Viewing > Remove
-
Survey > Surveying > Remove Triangulation
-
Survey > Survey Volumes > Remove Triangulation
Follow these steps:
-
Upon selecting the option, you will be prompted to select underlays loaded on-screen to remove. If there is only one underlay loaded, then the underlay will be selected automatically. You will be asked to confirm the removal of selected underlays from the Vulcan workspace.
TipSelect the Disable confirmation messages checkbox under the Dialogs and Popups section of the Vulcan Preferences if you want to disable the confirmation prompt. This will cause the underlay to be instantly removed upon selection.
Instead of graphical selection, you can select underlays by name using one of the following uptions:
-
The File > Underlays > Remove Layer... option for layers and mapfiles
-
The Model > Triangle Files > Remove by Name option for triangulations
-
The Model > Grid Mesh Surfaces > Remove by Name option for grid mesh models
-
The Block > Viewing > Remove Slice... option for block model related underlays
-
-
Right-click when you are finished selecting underlays to remove and exit the option.
