Triangle Utility menu contents
Use the Relimit option allows you to relimit a triangulated surface to in or outside boundaries that are represented as polygons. The resulting triangulation can be saved.
Use the Intersect option defines the lines of intersection, if they exist, between two or more triangulated surfaces.
Use the Cut option to cut a triangulation in two by interactively digitising a cutting line.
Use the Cut by Lines option to cut triangulations into two sections using an existing digitized cutting line.
Use the Merge option to create a new triangulation by merging two loaded triangulations. The new triangulation can be the intersection, union or difference of the two triangulations.
Use the Poly Boolean option to merge polygons using Boolean functions.
Use the Boolean option allows two loaded triangulations to be intersected precisely.
Use the Multi-Boolean option to use a collection of surface triangulations to split nominated triangulation solids.
Use the Delete Internal Walls option to remove internal walls and flaps.
Use the Fill Holes option to select and fill any holes in a triangulation.
Use Repair to repair invalid triangulations without changing volume characteristics.
Use the Auto Expand option to expand one or more surface triangulations.
Use the Smooth option to smooth the edges of an existing triangulation by a specified smoothness factor and number of passes.
Use the Display Colour Scheme option to view all the colours used in a specific triangulation.
Use the Create Selection File option to generate a triangulation selection file from currently loaded triangulations to be used in a range of Vulcan options.
Use the Append option to create a new triangulation by adding loaded triangulations.
Use the Check option to check the validity and stability of triangulations.
Use the Minimum/Maximum option allows you create a triangulation surface that follows the topography of a nominated collection of triangulations.
Use the Register option to register strings onto a triangulated or gridded surface. Only those points that fall in the limits of the surface are affected.
Use the Fault option to place a fault on a surface triangulation - defined by a string. The fault results in a vertical or angled tear of the surface.
Use the Strip option to remove interactively inner and outer (boundary) triangles of a nominated triangulation.
Use the Footprint option to create a boundary polygon along triangulation edges by projecting the triangulation extents to a specific level.
Use the Shrink Wrap option to create a top, bottom and a solid triangulation from a list of input triangulations or grids.
Use the Plane option to provide a plane of best fit from a point cloud or triangulation.
Use the Bench Profile option to create profiles at a nominated angle through a 2D or 3D triangulated body that displays on the screen.
Use the Section Profile option to create section profiles through a nominated triangulation(s).
Use the Section by Line option uses a triangulation and a polyline to create a trace of the triangulation where the x and y values match.
Use the Find Path option to find the shortest path between two points along a triangulation between triangulation vertices.
Use the Scale option to scale a triangulation by a nominated factor on three dimensions (X, Y and Z).
Use the Translate option to move a triangulation to a new position. Alternatively, a copy can be created and moved to the new position.
Use the Rotate option to rotate a triangulation at a specified angle around the X, Y or Z axis.
Use the GDA Conversion option to transform triangulations using an NTv2 grid shift file.
