Intersection Points

Use the Intersection Points option to create or modify intersection points (IPs).

Design Alignment

Use the Design Alignment option to generate both horizontal and vertical alignments.

Long Section

Use the Long Section option to view the natural surface along the alignment, i.e. a long section view of the terrain. This is used for looking at the terrain under a horizontal alignment and for designing vertical intersection points (IPs) and alignments.

Balance

Use the Balance option to balance out the height differences between the long section terrain and the alignment. This is useful for preliminary balancing of earth works.

Mark

Use the Mark option to label alignment points. This option is useful for locating points in long section.

Road Sections

Use the Road Sections option to design a road section. A road section is a view of the vertical section through the roadway, perpendicular to the direction of the alignment.

Conditional Sections

Use the Conditional Sections option to generate conditional sections. A conditional section is a section that is appended to the typical road section on either side, and can be selectively applied in cut or fill conditions. This includes drains in cuttings and berms, or embankments in fill conditions.

Apply Sections

Use the Apply Sections option to apply road cross sections to the alignment and to create the road surface.

Connect Sections

Use the Connect Sections option to join cross sections generated by the Apply Sections option, to create a more appealing road design. The sections are joined together by a set of lines.

Design Superel

Use the Design Superel option to design a superelevation diagram that is used to superelevate the left and/or right hand sections of a roadway.

Define Bridge

Use the Define Bridge option to mark points on the alignment where no batters will be generated. This option is useful when the alignment passes over a gully or river, as you want only to generate the road surface not the batters down to the surface.

Topography

Use the Topography option to select the topography triangulation to be used for the design.

Subsurface

Use the Subsurface option to select the default subsurfaces. Subsurfaces can be used as an aid in determining how the excavation can proceed (ripper, scraper, drill and blast), or to avoid unnecessary excavation in hard materials.
