Surveying menu contents
This section provides a summary of the Surveying submenu and its available options.
The Set Up option to set the instrument that you want to use for all recorder operations, including reduction and resection.
The Create option to create a raw data file that is suitable for uploading to the specified data recorder.
The Upload option to select a created upload file and upload it to the specified data recorder
The Download option to connect the total station data collector to the computer (via the serial port) and have it selectively dump its data into a raw data file in a nominated directory.
The Convert option to apply a Perl conversion script to a raw file prior to reducing it.
The Edit option to edit and interactively review upload and download files, as well as survey reduction reports, using your preferred text editor.
The Resection option to supply up to 10 horizontal and vertical angle survey readings, either from a specifically formatted GEODAT download file or from data manually entered, to enable you to determine the location of a resected station.
The Reduction option to reduce your download survey pickup data into a design database layer, splitting the data into strings and points based on the survey codes attached to the data during pickup.
The Coordinates option to load a coordinate download file into a layer.
The Traverse option to reduce a closed traverse that has been picked up and stored in a GRE4, GIF10, GEODAT or LEICA reduction file.
The Edit Codes option to edit or create the survey codes file. Survey codes are used to define the naming and graphical attributes of objects with a given survey code.
The Lava option to run a Lava script from your current working directory, or a directory pointed to by a specific Vulcan environment variable.
The Import Vulcan Field File option to import information stored with an existing Vulcan Survey Field file. The imported information can be saved in a nominated Vulcan layer.
The Create Station Library option to create a survey station library from points or objects already displayed on the screen.
The Edit Station Library option to edit the stations in a nominated survey station library.
The List Station Library option to list all of the survey stations in a nominated survey station library.
The Maintain Stations option to maintain the survey stations that are in a nominated survey station library.
The Display Stations option to display the survey stations that are in a nominated survey station library.
The Remove Stations option to remove survey stations from the screen. Only stations that are not saved into a layer can be removed using this option.
The Radiations option to calculate set out radiations from a nominated station (selected either graphically or by name from a list) to a selected object. The calculations can be stored in a report file.
The Adjustments option to perform a least squares network adjustment of a survey network or a Bowditch adjustment of a graphical object representing a traverse survey.
The List Survey option to display a list of the coordinates in a selected layer.
The Create Triangulation option to create a triangulation model by triangulating points in a survey.
The Load Triangulation option to load a triangulation that was created through the Create Triangulation option.
The Contour option to generate a contour map of a triangulated survey.
The Remove option to remove a loaded triangulation from the screen.
