Generate Triangulations for Period

Use the Generate Triangulations for Period option to assign colours to, smooth, and generate triangulations for each defined period.

Prerequisites

Before working in this option:

Load the desired Specification file
Define the Periods

Instructions

On the Block menu, point to Sequencing Accumulation and Reporting, and then click Generate Triangulations for Period to display the following panel.

Colours for Triangulations

Display

Select this check box to activate the period for display. By default, all defined periods (see Periods option) are active and selected.

Colour

Click on the desired colour in the column to launch the Colours panel. By default, the first period will be assigned the first colour in the palette; the second period assigned the second, and so on. Click on the desired colour for the period.

Select a destination folder

Select or enter the folder into which the new triangulation will be stored. By default, it will be saved to the currently loaded data set folder. Create a new folder, or move the triangulation to another folder. Click Browse to select a file from another location.

Force cut by bench region triangulations

Select this check box to force a cut by bench. For example, a force but by bench would apply to triangulations like a Phase Solid.

Save cut polygons

Select this check box to save the cut polygons by each period. You will also need to select the desired position (toe, middle, or crest) of the polygon in relation to the triangulation.

Contour Attributes

These options control the boundary effects when a triangulations is divided by periods.

No smoothing

Select this option to have the cut follow the block shape(s) with no smoothing applied to the boundary. This is the default option.

Least smoothing

Select this option to apply the minimum amount of smoothing to the triangulation boundary. This setting is equivalent to a Normal Smoothing with factor = 1.

Normal smoothing

Select this option to allow be able to choose the amount of smoothing applied to the triangulation boundary. You will need to enter the desired factor or use the slider the define the desired smoothing. 1 is the least smoothing and 5 the maximum smoothing.

Generate Triangulations

Click Generate Triangulation to create the triangulations by period.

Click OK to save the triangulation information.
