Section Method

Use Section Method to optimise sub-levels in each section of the framework extent. Alternatively, a section control string can be supplied to control level position in each section. The Section Method provided a restricted optimisation procedure whereby you provide a set of alternative stope heights, and the best combination of sublevel intervals and stope heights is chosen.

Requirements

A block model must be selected from the Open Specification page.

Instructions

On the Underground menu, point to Analyse, click Stope Optimiser, and then select Section Method from the tree menu on the left to display the Section Method panel.

Note:   Section method can only use vertical cases (XZ and YZ). In the case of section method the user does not provide a Z stope. The sublevel spacing is optimised based on the acceptable ranges.

Sublevel Section Optimisation

Section method is only used in vertical cases (stope orientation plane of xz of yz). In the case of section method the user does not provide a Z step. The sublevel spacing is optimised based on the acceptable ranges.

Minimum

Input the minimum acceptable value for the sublevel spacing.

Axis increment step

The increment size used to test the optimal location of the sub levels for the Section method.

Maximum

Input the maximum acceptable value for sublevel spacing.

Step size

The sublevel step size to be used to test the optimal location of the sub levels for the Section method. The step size should be a sub-multiple of he (maximum-minimum) sublevel spacing.

Sublevel Sections

Sublevel Spacing

The sublevel spacing associated with the specification of stoping sub-units for the Section method

Section Spacing

The section spacing associated with the specification of stoping sub-units for the Section method. The section spacing must match one of the section spacings used in a variable section spacing stope shape framework.

U min

Lower U limit, specified as a distance bounded by the size of the section spacing, for the stoping sub-unit, for the Section method.

U max

Upper U limit, specified as a distance bounded by the size of the section spacing, for the stoping sub-unit, for the Section method.

V min

Lower V limit, specified as a distance bounded by the size of the sublevel spacing, for the stoping sub-unit, for the Section method.

V max

Upper V limit, specified as a distance bounded by the size of the sublevel spacing for the stoping sub-unit, for the Section method.

Scaling factor to be applied to the cutoff (that would otherwise be used based on user input) for the stoping sub-unit, for the Section method.
