The table below presents the typical BlastLogic-related roles and corresponding actions in a mine site.

Drill and Blast (D/B) Engineer
  1. Performs site configuration:

    • Adding personnel, crew, drill machines, monitoring stations, drilling and charging shifts.

    • Adding custom properties for holes, blasts, drilling and cost.

    • Setting process tolerances and validation settings.

  2. Creates a blast in Vulcan and shares the data with BlastLogic (see BlastLogic and Vulcan Integration). The D/B Engineer can also import a blast using the traditional functionality.

  3. Applies a charge rule on the blast.

  4. Publishes the blast.

Operator
  1. Enters drilling event data on an interface that builds on BLIS (system administrator).

BLIS
  1. Validates and associates drilling event data with design data (as-drilled vs design).

Surveyor (optional)
  1. Rechecks collar values, angle and bearing and reports them as survey data.

D/B Engineer (optional)
  1. Issues dipping sheet.

Operator
(only necessary if step 8 is completed)
  1. Completes dipping sheet on the BlastLogic Tablet. Marks the holes that require backfilling.

D/B Engineer
(only necessary if 8 and 9 are completed)
  1. Issues backfilling sheet if required.

Operator
  1. Completes charge sheet on the BlastLogic Help Tablet.

D/B Engineer
  1. Loaded charge data on the BlastLogic Help Tablet is reconciled in the BlastLogic Help Desktop application.

  2. Reports are generated and inventory finalised.
