Introduction
Drilling, blasting, and mining typically are not performed on a single solid within a bench. Instead, multiple solids form a bench area that must be drilled and blasted together as a single blast operation before mining can begin. This tutorial outlines a method for managing this process using a combination of dependencies and task lists in Evolution.
Note: This tutorial limits the schedule to a single bench for simplicity, but you can follow the same process for the entirety or a portion of a complete schedule.

In the tutorial, we will configure our setup as follows:
-
Step 1: Create drill and blast groups to define the groups of solids that should be drilled together and then blasted as a group.
-
Step 2: Set task keys to sort and add tasks only within the created blasting groups.
-
Step 3: Set dependencies to force all of the blasting groups to be drilled before they can be blasted and mined.
-
Step 4: Create task lists for drilling, blasting, and excavation.
-
Step 5: Fine tune the schedule to resolve haulage issues.
-
Step 6: Review the schedule to confirm the final result.
