Save your changes and validate the schedule again. Next, step through the schedule in the Schedule Playback tab.

To practise, try the following:

Schedule the drilling, blasting, and mining the remainder of the bench trim blocks.

Schedule the remainder of Phase 1.

Schedule Phase 2 with a second excavator so it is completed concurrently with Phase 1, but is always at least a bench above.
Include the following in the Phase 2 schedule:

Add a second excavator resource of the same size and production rate.
Note: Mining is much slower than drilling, so it should be possible to use the existing drill fleet in both Phase 1 and Phase 2.

Create a dependency set that prevents a Phase 2 bench being drilled and mined before the Phase 1 portion of the bench is completely mined out.

As Phase 2 is smaller than Phase 1, and you must stay at least one bench above in Phase 2, it is likely that any excavator confined to Phase 2 will sit idle for large amounts of time. This would be unacceptable in a real mine, so you will need to also use this second excavator in Phase 1 when it cannot work in Phase 2.
