Layers and Features

Layers and features (Create tab > Style group) enable you to identify and sort CAD objects in your projects.

Layer: Layers are secondary containers in the cad container. The Layer drop-down list is populated with the top level cad container names. Selecting a layer determines where newly created CAD objects are placed. Select from an existing container in the drop-down list, or select New... to create a new layer.

Feature: Create features that you can then apply to CAD objects. From the Feature drop-down, select Edit..., then click Add... to create features. Alternatively, you can create features via PointStudio Preferences (see Preferences > Features).

Note:  When a feature is selected for use, Draw group tools not pertaining to the associated object type are disabled and style options are locked.

Pick a feature from the drop-down list and it will be automatically applied to subsequent CAD objects.
