Triangle Solid menu contents

Create

Use the Create option to construct a 3D triangulation from strings or polygons that represent a solid body, such as an ore body, dump or stope.

End Plate

Use the End Plate option to close off a solid triangulation by triangulating the two "end polygons" of the solid. This option can also be used to close off polygons with holes in them.

Tri Polygons

Use the Tri Polygons option allows you to take a group of polygons, end plate each polygon individually and append the result together.

Split

Use the Split option to create a new triangulation by splitting a triangulation that contains many disjointed sections.

Auto Split

Use the Auto Split option to n a solid.

Split by Horizons

Use this option to split triangulations by a set of surfaces.

Close Solid

Use the Close Solid option to close automatically all the holes in a solid.

Delete

Use the Delete option to delete triangles from a solid.

Triangle Delete

Use the Triangle Delete option to delete triangles (also called facets) from a solid triangulation model.

Repair Solid by Voxelation

Use this option to create a valid solid from an invalid solid by flagging a block model by he invalid solid and then generating a grade shell from the result. The result is like wrapping a grid around the invalid solid to generate a valid one.

Shells

Use the Shells option to clip a triangulation between a series of successive planes and produce new triangulations. The resulting triangulations, which are also known as 'shell triangulations', can be created with fixed or varying widths.

Surface Levels

Use the Surface Levels option to split open pits or solids into surfaces based upon a bench definition.

Polygons

Use the Polygons option to create triangulations from polygons for use in block modelling.

Volume

Use the Volume option to calculate the volume, tonnage and surface area of closed 3D triangulations.

Reserves

Use the Reserves option to produce weighted average reserve reports for a specified number of triangulations against samples that are either derived from a database or an ASCII mapfile.

Differential Volumes

Use the Differential Volumes option to calculate the common and non-common volumes (cut and fill) of two intersecting solid triangulations.

Create Sphere

Use this tool to create a sphere. The required parameters consist of interactive onscreen selection of object centroid and radius, followed by a panel input where the name, colour and quality will need to be defined.

Troubleshooting Guide

This section provides a troubleshooting guide to common triangulation problems.
