Survey Volumes menu contents
This section provides an overview of the Survey Volumes submenu and its available options.
The Working Section option to define a working layer. All section lines and profiles, which are generated by the Survey Volumes menu, will be placed in this layer.
The Create Section option offers you five methods for generating section lines. Section lines are required for profile generation and thus for volume calculation.
The Insert Section option to insert additional cross section lines at a nominated distance from existing ones.
The Delete Section option to delete section lines that were created and inserted through the Create Section and Insert Section options respectively.
The Generate Profile option to create profiles. Profiles are needed to perform volume calculations (using the Volume and Part Volume options).
The Area option to query the area of a nominated profile.
The Volume option to calculate and produce an end area 'cut and fill' volumes report.
The Part Volume option to calculate an end area 'cut and fill' volume that is stored then subtracted from the next full volume calculation.
The Plan View option to return to the plan view from section or slice view.
The Section View option gives you a section view in the vertical plane of a chosen section line.
The Create Triangulation option to create a triangulation model by triangulating points in a survey.
The Load Triangulation option to load a triangulation that was created through the Create Triangulation option.
The Contour option to generate a contour map of a triangulated survey.
The Remove option to remove a loaded triangulation from the screen.
