Execute Commands Based on Object/Point Selection

The Inquire option to activate an executable, which can reference external files (that have names built from the attributes of the selected object).

Instructions

On the Analyse menu, point to External Data, and then click Inquire.

Select the object.

If a numeric value range is being used to construct the file name, then the selected point is highlighted and the appropriate value displays to three decimal places.

The converted value will be shown if a Z value or a Z range has been specified in the specifications file. If object and point names are being used, then the selected point is merely highlighted.

The command will be executed. If the file name does not exist, the following error message displays:

"No matching external data file"
