Overview

Use options in the Convert submenu you to convert File_CompuServe.gif and Silicon Graphics Industry (SGI) RGB images or textures to Pexel files. Pexel files can be used in Vulcan for draping over triangulations. Options that control how the images are draped can be found under the Design > Pexel Control Points submenu. It is also possible to convert images (GIF, RGB File_or.png) to a PostScript file.

If your source image is not a File_CompuServe.gif or SGI RGB file, there are many third-party and shareware programs available that can convert the image to one of these formats.

Note:  Refer to the System Administration > Image Processing Utilities documentation for information on converting RGB files to RTL.

An alternative method of creating images to drape over triangulations is provided by the Model > Image Registration option. In this submenu it is not necessary to convert the images to a different format.
