Section View
View a Section and Profiles
The Section View option to view a section and any profiles that have been generated along the section line. This option has no effect if you are already in Section view.The Section View option creates a temporary window in which 2D design work can be performed, however, this window cannot be rotated like a 3D window can. Design work created in the normal 3D window, other than profiles along the selected section line and those generated through the Section submenu, cannot be accessed while in the 2D window. However, work done in the 2D window can be displayed and edited in the 3D window.
Instructions
- Select Geotech menu
- Select Section submenu
- Select Section View option
Select a section line. This may be a single section or a long section.
The associated profiles will then be displayed in the 2D window, with the horizontal axis distance from the section origin and the vertical axis elevation (Z). The 2D window is reflected in the Status toolbar (it shows WINDOW = $XSECTION). Use the Plan View option to return to the 3D window.
Tip
- Do not split profiles while you are in Section view.
- To move to another section, return to Plan view and select the Section View option again.
