Create Grade Block
Triangulations & Whole Blast
Instructions
On the Grade Control menu, click Create Grade Blocks to display the following options:
Choosing to use existing surface triangulations will require you to select the triangulations from the screen. Cancel when you have finished selecting the desired triangulations. You are then returned to the use line or triangulation prompt.
Continue selecting lines/triangulations, or select Cancel to generate the grade blocks.
Naming Sequence
This option is only available with Whole Blast.
Select this check box if you want the order of the grade block names to be based on the direction of a designated line, for example label from right to left or top to bottom. You will be required to indicate the directional line once the Grade Block Naming panel has been completed. If this check box is not selected, then the grade block names will be randomly assigned.
Name and Increment Type
Select whether you want to increment the starting value for each grade block created alphabetically or numerically. Â The beginning value will start at whatever value you set in the Name initial value field.
Name initial value
Enter the starting value for the grade blocks. The default value is A, however, the value will be set to 1 if the Increment name numerically has been selected.
Prefix
Enter the prefix for the resulting grade blocks (<prefix><start value>). Leave this field blank if you do not want to assign a prefix.
Suffix
Enter the suffix for the resulting grade blocks (<start value><suffix>).Leave this field blank if you do not want to assign a suffix.
Pad name-part to the width of the largest
This option will pad the variable 'name' component of the grade-block names so that all of the grade-blocks in the blast have names which are the same length.
The effect is only seen if there are 10 or more grade-blocks in the blast. This does NOT pad the names to the database field length.
Click OK.
If you selected the Use directional line for naming order check box, then you will be required to indicate the first and second point of the directional line. If the Use directional line for naming order check box was not selected, then the grade block names will be randomly assigned.
