Overview Window
The Overview Window, which is activated by using the Show Overview Window button
on the Graphics toolbar, provides an entire or "bird's eye" view of the window as an inset. The Overview Window is shared by all windows capable of showing an overview (for example, PRIMARY, Drafting). The Overview Window will remain in plan view during any rotations and a white box (non-perspective mode) or a white pyramid (perspective mode,) indicates the relationship between the main window and the Overview Window.
The Overview Window contains its own set of child toolbars, Graphics, Digitise and Visibility, it is possible to float and then remove these toolbars or add more toolbars to the window. To add more toolbars, right-click in empty docking space and select the toolbars you want to add from the displayed context menu.
It is possible to float, dock and collapse the Overview Window. The following methods can be used to dock the Overview Window:
-
Dragging the Overview Window onto an empty docking space.
-
Double-clicking on the Overview Window's title bar.
The Overview Window can only be dragged onto an empty docking space when the Allow overview window docking check box has been checked. Refer to the dialogs & Popups section of the Preferences interface for more information on the window docking preferences.
