Create Profile
Digitise New Surfaces
The Create Profile option to add new surfaces by digitising. It is useful, but not essential, to have feature codes defined for the surfaces. For example, water and failure features.

The Create Profile option can only be used while in Section View.
Instructions
- Select Geotech menu
- Select Section submenu
- Select Create Profile option
Digitise the first point of the surface, followed by any subsequent points. Any of the design entry modes can be used. Cancel when finished digitising points.
You will then be asked whether or not to apply a feature to the surface. Upon confirmation, you will need to specify whether you want to enter a name for the profile or let the system assign one.
Profile names specified through the Set Name option can contain up to 10 alphanumeric characters. If the profile name already exists, then the old one will be overwritten with the new. The Don't set option will assign a profile name of LINE<n> where <n> refers to a unique value for the section, for example LINE1, LINE2 etc.
The digitised profile will be cropped to the length of the section line. The resultant profile will have the same object name as the section. Profiles are assigned a group code of PROFILE while sections are assigned a group code of SECTION.
