Intelligent Objects Tutorials

The aim of the following tutorials is to provide you with the basic principles on how to use the Intelligent Objects Editor, which is accessed through the Design > Intelligent Objects > Intelligent Objects Editor menu option. The Intelligent Objects Editor allows you to link design data to the records contained with an external database.

This enables you to:

  • Store attribute data in an external database so that it can be displayed via the datatip of a Vulcan object.
  • Alter object attributes based on conditions applied to an external database.
  • Find/select objects that match a given set of conditions in the external database.
  • Create dynamically moving objects in Vulcan based on changing values in an external database.
  • Hide/display objects that match conditions in the external database.
  • Link the initiation of Lava scripts and/or panels when you double-click on a Vulcan object.
  • Specify object attributes from an external database.

These tutorials will go through the majority of options above displaying simple examples that can be then applied to real world examples. Truck haulage will be used as an example for the Intelligent Objects tools.

These tutorials are set up so that you are not required to do the entire tutorial, just the parts that you are interested in. By going through the Getting Started tutorial you can then choose which tutorials you would like to try.
